ABOUT OUR WEST COAST ACTION CENTER

The Greenpeace Oakland Action Center, where our event will be held, serves many functions. It’s the place where we store and maintain the equipment – from climbing gear and rigid inflatable boats to our airship and hot air balloon – that makes our iconic actions possible. We also host a large variety of trainings, meetings, art builds, workshops, banner making sessions and prop fabrications that help broaden the skills of Greenpeace activists and the greater progressive community.

While its main function is the Greenpeace Equipment Center, the Oakland Warehouse is also very much a growing and thriving community resource. We moved there in 2014 and are slowly building the space together with the neighborhood and many groups who work and organize here. It’s a great place for activists to get involved, whether they wish to learn new skills, find more ways of using skills they already have or just plug in to Greenpeace and the broader environmental movement.

Come out on April 25th to support our work and experience Greenpeace behind the scenes, at the place that provides an open, inclusive and empowering space for Greenpeace and our allies who are fighting for social and environmental justice.
